Canadian Council for the Americas

September 30, 2016
Toronto, Canada

CCC will be participating in a working breakfast with the Vice President of Argentina Gabriella Michetti and Argentine Cabinet Secretaries Miguel Braun (Commerce), Pedro Lacoste, (Finance), Daniel Meilan (Mining), Ricardo Negri (Agriculture and Fisheries), and Juan Procaccini (Investment and Trade). Presented by the Canadian Council for the Americas, the working breakfast will take place on September 30 in Toronto, Canada.

As the second-largest economy in South America, Argentina has been identified as an important partner for Canada in the Government of Canada’s Strategy for Engagement in the Americas. This strategy seeks to advance three goals: increasing mutual economic opportunity; addressing insecurity, advancing freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law; and fostering lasting relationships. Bilateral trade between Canada and Argentina was $2.19 billion in 2014 ($2.1 billion in 2013). Canada and Argentina have enjoyed diplomatic relations since 1940.
