Ottawa, CANADA – The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), on behalf of the Government of Canada, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ecuador’s Technical Secretariat of Public-Private Partnerships and Delegated Management (STAPP-GD) which will allow for the identification and the development of new infrastructure projects in Ecuador, encourage financing from export credit agencies and commercial banks, and provide opportunities for the Government of Ecuador to procure Canadian goods and services from qualified suppliers.
The signing of this Canada-Ecuador MOU is another example of the close economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries, who are currently exploring a free-trade agreement.
As a result of the MOU, CCC is now involved with the prefeasibility and feasibility studies for the Cruce Sur roadway project, also known as Viaducto Sur de Guayaquil or the fifth bridge. The agreement will open opportunities for Canada-Ecuador collaboration on bridge and other infrastructure projects through CCC.
In addition to helping to source the a customized solution and providing contract oversight, CCC will provide a Government of Canada guarantee of contract performance for any government to government contracts that are signed by CCC. This provides Ecuador the assurance that the project will be delivered as contracted.
CCC develops and manages government to government (G2G) contracts through its International Prime Contractor service which is designed to collaboratively build successful commercial relationships between Canadian suppliers and government buyers.
