Michel Chartrand appointed CCC’s Vice-President, Legal Services, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary

The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) is pleased to announce that Michel Chartrand has been appointed Vice-President, Legal Services, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary – on a permanent basis. Mr. Chartrand had been fulfilling the responsibilities on an interim basis since September 2021.

Mr. Chartrand brings over 20 years of legal work experience, most notably in international commercial contracts, risk management and dispute settlement. Mr. Chartrand joined CCC in 2000 as Legal Counsel and progressed to the role of Vice-President, Legal Services, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary having practiced in each business line of the Corporation. He has a deep knowledge of aerospace, defence and security sectors and their international sales contracts, including the interpretation of the U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defence FAR Supplement (DFARS) in support of DPSA contracting. Mr. Chartrand also brings a breadth of experience in managing integrity compliance programs and conducting human rights impact assessments, two key elements of CCC’s environment, social, and governance commitments.

Mr. Chartrand practices in both French and English and has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 1999. He holds degrees in Civil Law and Common Law from the University of Ottawa, having completed his final year of common law studies at the National University of Singapore.
