CCC introduces Transparency and Accountability Policy

August 3, 2021

Ottawa, Canada – The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) is proud to introduce a Transparency and Accountability Policy and commits to publishing, on a quarterly basis, a list of all transactions that were signed in the previous quarter as part of its Responsible Business Conduct initiatives.

In November 2021, CCC will begin publishing a Transactional Disclosure Report that lists all transactions that were signed in the previous quarter. The Report will be found on CCC’s Disclosure page on our website.

Each quarter the report will include the exporter’s name, country of destination, general description of the goods or services being exported, as well as a dollar range value of the contract. In many cases this information on the transactions can already be found in the public domain as foreign government buyers account for their spending of public funds.

Exportateur Destination Description Montant de la transaction CAD
Company A Australia Consulting Services < $100,000
Company B United States Safety and Security Equipment $1,000,000 – $5,000,000
Company C Caribbean Agricultural Machinery $100,000 – $1,000,000
Company D Thailand Aerospace $50,000,000 – $100,000,000

Starting in July 2021, CCC contracts will include a clause that enables the disclosure of transactional information as a condition of receiving support from CCC.

Transparency is a core principle of Responsible Business Conduct. It allows stakeholders and the public to hold CCC accountable for its activities and commitments. Accountability ensures that CCC carries out its mandate in a reasonable and ethical manner.

As we move forward with this initiative, we commit to protecting the interests of our exporters and buyers who regularly entrust us with their confidential information. This is why CCC has been working diligently to communicate this change to exporters and to reassure them that we will continue to treat their proprietary and confidential information with the utmost commercial confidence.

The Transactional Disclosure Report will both enhance CCC transparency and highlight the scope and value of contract opportunities CCC supports to enable Canadian exporter success.

If you are a Canadian exporter of technology and expertise that may be of interest of governments around the world, contact CCC to learn more about how the Government of Canada can help you advance your goals.
