G2G contract with U.S. Army
In July 2020, L3Harris was awarded an eight-year, $380 million contract for its WESCAM MX-Series products and services to support global U.S. Army surveillance and targeting operations with the help of the Canadian Commercial Corporation.
The contract enabled upgrades and support for the U.S. Army’s robust installed base of fixed-wing, aerostat and unmanned platforms while supporting expanding Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements.
“Through this contract, our highly specialized optics and leading technologies can continue to meet the needs of emerging mission portfolios, including time-sensitive response operations,” said Sean Stackley, President, Integrated Mission Systems, L3Harris.
L3Harris’ WESCAM MX-Series of multi-sensor, multi-spectral, electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting systems support intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition missions from platforms across the air, land and maritime domains
L3Harris’ WESCAM MX-Series products have successfully supported U.S. Army aviation programs for more than two decades. WESCAM MX-Series systems have logged over 4 million hours of combat operations with the U.S. Army and continue to be a resource in on-going global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
G2G contract with U.S. Air Force
In 2022, the US Air Force awarded a $70 million contract to L3Harris through the Canadian Commercial Corporation to extend its logistics support for the service’s electro-optical infrared sensors. The contract required field-level repair, troubleshooting, and operator familiarization training services for the sensor system developed by L3Harris Technologies.
According to the company, this series of electro-optical infrared sensors offer day and night imaging capabilities even in adverse weather conditions. In the case of the U.S. Air Force, this technology is integrated into the AC-130 gunship fleet.
